Just another site that's giving you hard to find music
A Place To Find Some Rarer Tunes (Mod, PowerPop, Punk, Ska) ripped from my vinyl collection. If it sounds good I'll post it. The idea being that now you know about them, you can seek them out! If anyone is unhappy about any of these posts please contact me & I will take them off.

Zoomiiz - I'll be your spark (1982)
b/w - photograph
Well, I know even less about this 45 than yesterday's post (except the date is correct)
The A-side is a sort of glam/powerpop tune whereas the b-side is more in the early 70's pop/rock vein.
It will probably not be liked by most of you (not that it matters, as some will!) but it deserves to be heard again.

Like a cross of Suzi Quatro & Siouxie!!! Excellent post! Thank you very much!
ReplyDeleteMarcia, Debbie, Diane and Shirley. From London. Herbie Flowers.
ReplyDeleteSorry: and Nick.
ReplyDeleteSuzi Quatro (as a kid I used to have posters of her on my wall) and Siouxsie, I have to try it now
ReplyDeleteThey sound remarkably like the Shivvers. The vocalist is a dead-ringer for Jill Kossoris.
ReplyDeleteVery nice post.
I believe these were a Dutch band originally called 'Spider' until the English boogie band of the same name threatened them with legal action.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the pointer Lee - I'll look into it!!!
DeleteNot sure if my posts are showing, The Zoomiiz were English, not Dutch. Some of us were in the Spiders first, but they were very different bands, we didn't change our name because of Spider although that got us both some publicity, they didn't threaten us with legal action :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the info Marcia - It's much appreciated. Could you possibly give me some surnames & the instuments they played. (LDK gave your forenames above)
DeleteI guess this was the spiders that released Mony Mony on Red Records. So maybe Debbie Sanders?
