The Sods - Mopey Grope (1979)

Great Punky Powerpop from this Harlow 5 piece, who began life in early '77 as The Rage but due to another band using the name became The Sods.

In 1978, inspired by the DIY ethics of punk (& a £1000 bank overdraft) Kevin Jones and Shane Roe (along with Richard Holgarth and Billy Meadows from The Gangsters) started their own record label (Stortbeat Records).

Declan Baron from The Rabbits plays on the No Pictures 45  
Scott Barker Ex The Fatal Microbes plays on the Mopey Grope 45 (He also wrote Negative Positive) 

Mickey Howard had also left the band before the recordings but retuned to record them.

The band formed at Kingsridge Secondary School in 1977 (The boys were all around 14) & folded in 1981 when school was over.
