Nice New Wave / Ska released On Imperial Records [IMP 1] Produced by Chuck Mace & with help from Duncan Bridgeman, Bob Kraushaar, Phil Smith & Mark King.
It was then re-worked & re-released a few months later [August 1980] as Working On The Land / Concrete Dreams [MCA 627] this time with the production duties from Nick Launay.
I'm not sure who Jon Eden was but he could of been the Actor [wearing the 2 cowboys T-shirt] who played in the 1980 Film Short "Knights Electric" - not the best plot-line but worth 25 mins of your time
Jon Eden |
Useless Info - Charles Mace (voc, bass), Duncan Bridgeman (keys) along with Richard Johnson (guitar) and Howard Tibble (drums) were the band Public Skool who had a hit around the same time [July 1980] with a cover of the Equals tune - Baby Come Back
If anyone can add any info please leave a comment
Worth a listen I guess but not really to my taste. Prefer the B-side. I'm more impressed he was a team captain on Cheggars Plays Pop than being in that short film. A Jon Eden co-hosted some late night Disco show on the BBC with Linda Lewis in 1978, that might be him too.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like Robin Scott was involved with the MCA deal, 'Pop Muzik Ltd' and 'A Midascare Production' on the labels.
