Just another site that's giving you hard to find music
A Place To Find Some Rarer Tunes (Mod, PowerPop, Punk, Ska) ripped from my vinyl collection. If it sounds good I'll post it. The idea being that now you know about them, you can seek them out! If anyone is unhappy about any of these posts please contact me & I will take them off.

Average Buss Cue - Whenever I'm With You (1984)
b/w - Now You See Me
Here's a 45 I picked up a few months ago & it's been residing on the I'm not sure about pile until I gave it another listen yesterday.
It has an interesting DIY vibe to it that I'm pretty sure NWOBHM fans will also like.
I know nothing about the band except both sides were penned by Collins / Yeulet & it was pressed through the Lyntone plant
As usual if anyone knows anything please leave a comment!!

Herod's Race - Something's Not Right (1980)
b/w - Wind Me Up
Nice punk powerpop tunes for the sole release of this band from Ely.
The band were (L-R in the photo below)
William Clarke / Barnes*
Michael "Mick" Gillett (guitar) RIP
Lee Gillett (voc)
Alan Bailey
Andy Clark
*I'm not sure about the surname as one source puts it as Clarke yet the autograph here looks very much like Barnes
Both tunes were recorded at Spaceward Studios under the watchful eye of Gary Lucas
Other later bands Lee & Mick were in include Wild Party Productions & Ca$hback
There's load of stuff here from a charity concert celebrating the life of Mick Gillett.
Something's Not Right also managed to make it on to this 2003 compilation

Yellow Bell - Don't Go Breaking Down (1984)
b/w - Getting My Heart Back Together
Cool Pop Rock for the New Year - If this had been released 10 years earlier, you'd be seeing it on all the Pub Rock compilations that are starting to spring up.
The flip seems to be a live cut (it's a bit weak if you ask me!)
I can't tell you much about the band except the tunes are written / produced by Steve Laffy & B. Canty.
They were possibly London Based as:
"Harmony Records" appear to have a St John's Wood phone number.
The dead wax has ORLAKE inscribed in it (Now defunct Orlake records pressing plant in Dagenham)
