Great record! The b-side label design might suggest some kind of Crass type thing but it's definitely on the right side of melodic.
ReplyDeleteSteve Mew on vocals, or Steev as he spelled it back then. Phil Woodman on guitar. Can't help with other surnames. Formed at college in Luton in 1979 with Nick Beggs later of Kajagoogoo on bass but he was a bit too 'pro' so they got rid.
thanks for the extra info James, much appreciated
ReplyDeleteGot a copy of the 'Anoraky In The UK' book in the post on Saturday. The book was on my radar earlier in the year but got distracted so thanks for the reminder. It was actually Tony Page who wrote it though Fletcher does do the foreword. A very good read and a nice selection of records.
ReplyDeleteI now have the full names of all The Dalex if you want update the main post...
Steev Mew - vocals
Phil Woodman - guitar/vocals
Jon Hall - bass/vocals
Mick Ashpool - drums/percussion
I also scanned the Dalex page from 'Anoraky' and mailed in to Steve to see what he thinks.
Ooops my bad with the Tony's mix up. Thanks for pointing it out & the band name updates.
