I've had this for a while & knew nothing about it [Not even the release date] Fortunately a few days ago I was flicking through an old N.M.E. & came across an interveiw (Included in the download)

So here are some Folky Punk tunes for your listening pleasure. (Think the missing link between Woody Guthrie & Billy Bragg)

The tunes are penned & played by J. J. Quinn who was an Alias for London based but Durham bred Jimmy Red. 

According to the interview (& the label) Jimmy recorded these tunes in various Basements & had 10,000 privately pressed up (hard to believe he could afford to have that many from busking around town)

    Curious. I don't know where the market would have been for this type of music other than gigs and on the streets, but having released records myself I know the unit price comes right down the more you get pressed. If Jimmy was still around today I'd be amazed.

    I got laid off and have spent the last few months trying (and failing) to get work, so I too have started a blog now since I have the time, and I've added you to my blogroll, of course! It's just compilations of some of my favourite tracks that I've made available, not much, but at least it's something. http://btltheblog.blogspot.co.uk

      They sure did, and sometimes still are, I guess this is what being jobless with bills to pay does to you. They were cheap enough at just over a quid each but there wasn't really any interest, even though the originals cost a fortune you can still get a lot of the stuff on blogs. I still like sharing and talking about stuff though so I thought blogging was the way to go.
